Today on our 2014 Chevy Sonic we'll be test fitting the Thule T2 platform style 2
bike rack, part number TH917XTR. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of
the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pinholes, we'll thread
our anti-rattle bolt through the pinholes and then tighten it down using a wrench. With
the bike rack secured, we'll go through a few clearance measurements to see how the
two fit together. We have about 11 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the
bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about a half-an-inch away, and we've
added about 12 inches to the overall length of our Sonic. We'll now go ahead and lift
up on the gray lever on the base of the bike rack and tilt the platform down. With the
rack in this position we have about 17 inches of ground clearance.
