Joanna Joseph for Expert Village. Well, we're at the end of this very simple little project.
We started with a few little warm up exercises on graph paper. We did some thumbnail sketches
on pencil and paper with different possible layouts and alphabets. We tried it with ink.
We chose the italic alphabet. We wrote it over a couple more time to get the spacing
the way we wanted it, and then we wrote it one more time on, on final paper. Now this
is just a simple little project to make my son smile. I'm going to take this and get
it reduced quite a bit and turn it into a refrigerator magnet like one my sister made
for me. This is simply, whatever your design is, attached to cardboard, laminated; I think
she probably used contact paper, and then just simple magnet strips you can buy most
anywhere. But, of course, calligraphy can be applied in a lot of different ways. I'll
show you some of my other work.
