I can't separate the memorable things
from the personalities. When you have camaraderie that you
blood sweat and tears. You develop
those bonds that last a lifetime. I have friends today
that I talk to on a regular basis that that we enjoy when it's all over
with we get ready to hang up to tell them we love them.
I bleed green like most of the rest of this group. I'm so appreciative
on the education we got here and that I just try to do everything I can.
My wife and I are co-charing the capital campaign, about to wrap one up
which is great. I support athletics very heavily.
I support the college of business very heavily I am just grateful for the whole
experience.
It gave me an opportunity, nobody in my family had ever finished high school
much less college
and the atmosphere I had here at North Texas
was very conducive to learning. On Thursdays
at the Student Union the One O'clock Lab Band played
and you didn't have a class on Thursday. at one o'clock you went there to dance
and it was just the best music in the whole world and
I think that part of being at North Texas with all the music surrounding you
just made this place
so special to all of us. Obviously education
was the reason we came, but I soon discovered
at UNT there was another life there was a college life.
Joining the Geezle fraternity was also
a very important a event in my life.
Unlike many fraternities you didn't pledge Geezle.
They found you. The night I was
asked to be a Geezle. They brought in and handed me a piece of paper
told me where I was supposed to be on a certain day
and as they handed to me that they set fire to it destroying all evidence.
We were very big on supporting athletics.
In fact the Geezles were instrumental in adding the
big Spiriki eagle in Apogee Stadium.
The social life lead to
lifetime friendships which enhanced
the education that I received here at UNT.
My involvement here really taught me how to interact with people.
It's been a very enjoyable, the journey of my life. I wouldn't change anything
and North Texas was the beginning of it. I tease my SMU and TCU
friends and tell them that they are owed a refund because my
my education is as good or better than theirs.
