The world is changing rapidly and so is Queensland. We're headed for a future full of change and
challenges. There'll be great technology advances, a fluctuating
global economy and a population that continues to grow.
To be ready for the future, Queensland needs to change NOW.
The way we think and how we work. The Queensland Plan is the first step, it's
a vision for the future that began with more than 78 000 people having a say.
Voices from every corner of the state and from all walks of life.
It puts us in the best position to navigate the twists and turns ahead, capitalise on
our strengths and achieve even greater success. So what change will Queensland see in 30 years?
There'll be more of us, 8 million in fact. Holding hands, we could trace Queensland's
border almost twice! And we'll live longer, so education, the environment,
healthcare and communities will be important as will managing the economy for future growth.
Great change needs a great plan. One that's built by Queenslanders for Queensland. The
Queensland Plan identified 9 key areas. We need to build regional communities with
better career paths to retain and attract people.
We need education that teaches life skills and inspires young minds to greatness, this
will improve our health services and help fight preventable diseases like obesity.
Brighter minds will also drive innovation in the workplace and keep our economy thriving
and growing. They will help find a balance between growth and maintaining the environment.
Decisive and responsive governments that can adapt to change will also be needed.
Most importantly, we'll need to harness the famous volunteering spirit of Queensland that
lies within us all. To help make the future ours because together
we can make it happen. Have your say on The Queensland Plan working
