Hi there! I’m from Close To My Heart.
Today I’ll show you how to make our already
beautiful Workshops on the Go™ artwork into showstopper art,
all with just a few simple adjustments to how you cut the paper.
But first, let me quickly explain what the Workshops on the Go
program is. Each of our My Reflections® paper packets
have a special workshop kit associated with them
that gives you the stamps, supplies, and instructions
to create a bunch of fabulous artwork featuring that paper packet.
With just one workshop kit, you can
create two 2-page layouts, like these from the Dreamin’ kit.
Plus, with just two or three additional items,
you can make a bonus project. In this case,
the bonus project is five circle cards. Aren’t they adorable?
And remember, that’s all with just one kit
that includes a full paper packet, one or two accessory packs,
a couple of extra sheets of neutral cardstock—
for Dreamin’ we added two Colonial White sheets—
a how-to guide, and an exclusive C-size stamp set,
meaning that the stamp set is ONLY available in the workshop kit.
And, the workshop kit is available for a discounted price
of just $29.95 US or $33.50 CAN—such a deal!
All of our workshops already use a few inks
and a couple of tools, so you’ll get great use out
of the items you most likely already have on hand!
So, now that we’ve reviewed the Workshops on the Go program,
I’d like to show you how we amped the projects up a bit.
The secret is using decorative shapes in places
where straight-edged shapes once were.
And, the best part is, you don’t have to cut each
decorative shape by hand! All you do is use your
Cricut® machine and our exclusive Art Philosophy cartridge!
Let’s take a closer look.
For this layout, which is the main workshop layout
using a brand new pattern, I just changed the photo mats
from straight edges into scalloped edges.
It was super easy and took about the same amount
of time as cutting the straight-edge mats with my paper trimmer.
You’ll also notice that I created a couple of
scalloped-edges on these two borders, as well as
making my journaling box into a bracket shape here.
Then for the additional layout from the how-to book Magic™,
I made the large photo mat into a postage stamp shape
and created a little fence over here.
Two very simple changes that add tons of visual flair!
And finally, on some of my bonus project circle cards, I switched
out some of the straight-edged shapes for some Cricut® shapes.
Here...and here.
I love the layouts and cards just as they are in the workshop,
but I love them even more with a little Cricut® flair!
