Fallon, people from all walks of life, many with impeccable credentials, have sworn to encounters with extraterrestrials. But when I tell Jeff, he's gonna think I've lost my mind. Are you testing Jeff's trust? All I know right now is I went through something so strange, unlike anything I've known. I have to let him know what I went through. All right, Fallon, if you feel that strongly about it. As long as you understand that what you have to say would stretch anybody's credulity. It won't be easy. No matter how much Jeff loves you. Now, don't get me wrong, Bill, I'm honoured to be considered as a candidate. But you know what my family has been through this past month. Well, believe me, Blake, I totally understand. But the primary is just around the corner. Well, maybe the timing is wrong. I don't know. Perhaps I ought to say just a plain "no." Now, that would be a mistake. Why? There's no shortage of qualified candidates. Or, uh, unqualified candidates. I happen to know that you fellows have been talking to Alexis the past couple of weeks. That was a different faction of the party, Blake. I believe they've since lost interest. That little episode in the river scared them off. What's that got to do with anything? It was an accident. Ha, ha, Blake, it's the perception. Aggressive media. There are a lot of reasons to discount Alexis Colby, that accident certainly isn't one of them. Now, look, we're coming to you for all the right reasons. You have a good business sense, coupled with vision and compassion. It takes a man whose success and power have not diminished his concern for the people to run this state. You have all the qualities, Blake. All of them. He certainly knows the right things to say, doesn't he, Jeff? Well, I'd have to say they're all true. All right, Bill, give me a day or two to think it over and I promise you an answer one way or another. Come on board, Blake. He seemed fine. He's not. I can see it, it's the look in his eyes. He's, uh, he's hiding a lot of pain. All right. I'm listening. That night in the desert, when my car broke down, I felt very alone, very frightened. There was a chill in the air, but I began to perspire. And my heart was beating as if I were in a nightmare. FALLON: I grabbed the car phone. I tried to call for help. But the operator couldn't hear me. There was static, getting louder and louder. And suddenly, my car lights went out. [SPACESHIP WHIRRING] Then the car filled with a bright light. I thought, "Oh, someone's coming to help me." I got out of the car. But what I saw coming out of the sky, I thought, "No, jt couldn't be." But I could see jt clearly. It was a spaceship. I wanted to run, get away from jt. But I couldn't move. A panel slid open and a ramp came down. And then a figure appeared. He held out his hand, and suddenly I was moving toward jt, helplessly. As jf I were being drawn to jt. The closer I got, the less afraid I became. I found myself inside facing him. But I wasn't afraid then. I felt somehow elated. And as we left the Earth, I was never more at peace. My God. Jeff, I told you what happened. Will you please say something? I don't know what to say. I didn't expect to hear anything like that. I'm sure you didn't. Can you remember anything else? Pieces mostly. [SIGHS] I was I was examined. With needles. Uh, a feeling of paralysis. It terrified me. I'm trying to stay with you on this. But you said you had a feeling of peace and then you said you were terrified. Which one is it? - Both. - Both? I know how this must sound to you. I can't explain it, but it did happen. You have to believe me. Jeff, I wanna share this with you, but it's very painful for me. I need to know what you're thinking. You got lost in the desert. You started hallucinating or saw a mirage. [SIGHS] He told me there were other normal people who'd experienced something like this, so he doesn't think I'm crazy. - If that's what you mean. - Oh, come on, Fallon.
