We are going to check out what the level 10 mystery is in the marrow gates level but not before being assaulted by some goopy people that I didn't record because that's boring to watch. So over here you may recall, right after I got my ability to climb the blood waterfalls, I had this level 10 door: The only level 10 door because this game requires nothing but nine to open and I'm very interested to see what could be behind this door for the kingdom. Oh, look at that. It's the Shadow Man comic and some concept art. Well, that's exciting. Look at that. Oh, this is... I was really hoping for backstory but concept art is pretty cool I guess. I didn't teleport. That's impossible. Anyway, I'm pretty sure this one is 5-5-5. I should have been cruel and made you watch the whole thing. Oh, I like those noises. The path is opened. Look at that. OK. I wonder how quickly I can teleport. I wonder if it's going to put the loading screen on forever just because I'm moving over there. Oh, look at that. Instant. Oh, this is rather dramatic. Oh god. I totally remember. This place is creepy. Oh no. OK. >> LUKE: Please, Mikey! >> SHADOW MAN: Luke! >> LUKE: It's bad, Mikey! Real bad! They're going to kill me if they catch me! >> SHADOW MAN: Luke, don't move! Stay there. I'm coming to get you! Jesus, Luke! No! >> RYAN: Shadow Man, you probably don't want me at the helm right now because I have no problem with shooting Luke at this point because he's scaring the *** out of me. Ohh, I really don't want to be climbing this. Oh dear. My computer doesn't want to be climbing this either. Oh god. It's dark. I don't like darkness. Why am I playing Shadow Man if I don't like dark- Oh. Trueform. Don't open up. Just stay in there. I am not in the mood to fight a trueform right now, game. What is wrong with my framerate!? What is the dealio, game? Oh well. It just seems to be fine now. OK. If I have to fight one of these to progress I'm just going to be mega angry. We'll get this out, we'll keep the Shadowgun and we'll... >> SHADOW MAN: Luke, there you are. What you doing running away like that? Luke, speak to me, kid. >> LUKE: Hiya, Mikey. Glad you could make it. I've been waiting for you. I was scared. Scared they were gonna catch me. That you weren't gonna come get me. >> SHADOW MAN: Here, Luke. You should have known that I'd always be there for you, bro. >> LUKE: There were bad things in the dark. Badder than the bogeyman. They did stuff to me. Stuff I don't want to think about. >> SHADOW MAN: Oh god. I'm sorry, Luke. >> LUKE: Hey, you wanna here a joke, Mikey? >> SHADOW MAN: Sure. >> LUKE: Once upon a time there was a murderer and his victim walking hand in hand toward some deep dark woods. The victim squeezes the murderer's hand real tight. He says, looking into his big, round eyes, "I'm real scared, mister, of the deep, dark woods." The other guy says, "You're scared? How the hell do you think I feel. I'm going to be walking back through them on my own!" [laughs] Pretty funny, eh, Mikey? Pretty god damn amusing, don't you think!? >> SHADOW MAN: You ain't Luke. You ain't my brother. >> LUKE: Congratulations. You win the *** prize. It was never your brother. Just a little insurance to get you here. Really, Michael. You must learn to let the dead live in peace. >> SHADOW MAN; Who are you!? >> LEGION: And he asked him, "What is thy name?" And he replied, "My name is Legion. For we are many." And you, Shadow Man, are Legion also. The souls of the many fill your vitals to bursting. >> SHADOW MAN: To hell with this obscure ***! I don't need it! All I need to know is that I'm going to take you down. >> LEGION: You really don't get it, do you? You are more of a postering fool that I first believed. When I came up with my grand and incredibly brilliant plan, which will you know as The Prophecy, all those years ago... >> SHADOW MAN: What!? You created The Prophecy? >> LEGION: Of course I did, pillock. Surely you didn't believe all that *** about the old gods imparting the knowledge to the ancients. The only god back then was me. It was I who spoke to the ancients in their dreams and planted the seed of my triumphant return. Of course, all those years ago I couldn't have hoped for more of a willing puppet. Luckily, the puppet is you, Michael LeRoi. And of course, now that you've so kindly presented poor Lukey with his teddy bear, it is impossible for you to live. >> SHADOW MAN: You ***! >> LEGION: Thank you. I suppose you read Les Cartes. For it is written, and Legion took the power of the dark souls unto him. I knew that the dark souls would be difficult to get and I needed someone to bring them to me and here you are, replete with their immortal power, a power I require to energize my dark engine and project my armies across the veil to Liveside. As it was in the beginning, as now and forever shall be. >> SHADOW MAN: It isn't over yet! >> LEGION: Oh, I think it is, Michael. Well and truly over. We spoke the word to Pike, Batrachian, Cruz and the others so that they might open the way. We whispered sweet nothing into Nettie's ear as she lay sleeping and she sent you to us like the proverbial lamb to the slaughter man. The power is within you, Shadow Man. The power to unleash the apocolypse upon your pissant little world. The throne awaits you, Michael LeRoi. You are the fuel for a great engine. As it was in the beginning is now and forever shall be.
