In sustainable energy news, a Philippine non-profit promotes electric vehicles in the nation.
The Institute of Climate and Sustainable Cities has funded 20 e-jeepneys. This electric version
of the country’s iconic transportation vehicle uses lead-acid batteries, which take about
8 hours to recharge. It is envisioned that later a more energy-efficient type will be
substituted. The brightly colored vehicles are gaining interest and attention from traditional
jeepney drivers, and are being warmly welcomed by the public.
Kudos, Institute of Climate and Sustainable Cities, for your eco-friendly steps. With
green efforts such as these, combined with humanity’s adoption of the Earth-saving
plant-based diet, surely a bright future awaits us, with Heaven’s grace.
