hello my name is rozell medina i'm a graduate student here at PSU
Earning a masters degree in educational leadership and policy and leadership for
sustainability education
I also did most of my undergraduate studies here
it's march seventh two thousand thirteen a beautiful day here at PSU and
I'm in the Art building. I'm hanging up flyers for the program that i coordinate
Chiron Studies.
trying to keep students and everybody else informed about the amazing classes that
were offering
at PSU next term.
Chiron Studies was founded by PSU students and faculty way back during the
1968 / 69 academic year
Chiron Studies makes it possible for qualified PSU students to actually
design
and instruct official for credit classes at the university does not already
offer.
There's a very rigorous proposal process and students work with the faculty
mentor throughout the process of proposing and instructing Chiron classes.
Students also get paid for their time and energy
it's a really amazing way for them to experience really unique and
distinguishing learning opportunities and for PSU to nurture thoughtful
well-prepared educators and to engage students with PSU's core values
in really unique ways.
Also, it's a great way for PSU students to diversify the
universitiy's curriculum.
And to be empowered in a fundamental way because not only do we have access
to an education
we have a really special way to influenced what we're learning and how.
This is the kind of program that I think more and more university should offer
And I'm really glad to be working to inform people about this program here at PSU
today.
