Gatte ki sabzi is a very popular Rajasthani recipe
It is prepared with Gram Flour
Today I'm going to make Dry Gatte ki Sabzi
Lets see the ingredients required for making Dry Gatte ki Sabzi
For making this we will need
Gram Flour - -1 cup
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida - 2 pinch
Fennel seeds - 1/2 tsp, coarsely ground
Garam Masala - 1/4 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Oil - 3 tbsp
Salt - 1 tsp, Adjust to taste
Carom seeds - 1/4 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Dry mango powder - 1/2 tsp
Water for kneading gram flour dough
Lets start making Dry Gatte ki Sabzi
Take 3 cups of water in a pot, cover it and let it boil
Take gram flour in a large plate
Add 1/2 tsp of salt to it
Add turmeric powder
Add 1 pinch of asafoetida
Add coarsely ground fennel seeds
Add carom seeds
Mix all the spices with gram flour
Knead it into a soft dough by adding little water at a time
Dough should be soft
Divide it into 4 parts
Now add some more water and knead
Make 1.5 inch diameter cylindrical rolls of this dough
Place this roll in boiling water
Similarly prepare all the 4 rolls and place them in boiling water
Boil these rolls for 8 to 10 minutes on medium flame
Its been 8 minutes, lets check them
Prick rolls with a knife, if it comes clean, gatte are done boiling
These are done, now take them out into a plate
Slice the rolls into into 1/2 cm pieces
Heat a kadhai / wok
Add oil
Oil is heated, Now add cumin seeds
Cumin seeds are crackling, now add asafoetida
Add coriander powder
Add red chilly powder
Add gatte
Mix gatte with the spices and fry
Add salt
Add garam masala
Add dry mango powder
Fry these for about 5 minutes
Gatte ki sabzi is ready, take it out into a plate
Dry Gatte ki Sabzi is ready
You can have it as a tea time snack or can also serve as a side dish with lunch or dinner
