Marcia Douglas, Director: "I've always loved the musical and thought it might be a good
time to do this musical. Unfortunately, too many things are similar in these times as
they were in those times, and I think we just need a reminder that there are other ways
to get communication going between people than fighting with them."

Sam Watson, "Steve/Clark Gable": "Putting up Hair has been unlike anything I've ever
done before. It was very challenging, especially with 31 people in the cast. The best part
is the cameraderie in the cast has been one of the best ensemble experiences I've ever
had.

"It was a challenge to think about a time period that we're not so familiar with, but
I feel it's very relevant."
Justin Zang, "Claude": "I've never been involved with such a production that the group was
so close, and that's what this show really called for. It's a tribal rock show, and the
tribe really is the breath, that's like the main character of the entire show, it's just
everybody."
Matt Bessette, "Berger": "I've truly never been in a production where the crew is just
as much a part of this as the actors and everything. I see new things every day, and I'm like,
'Wow', and it amazes me every day. It is terrific because I always look forward to coming."
Justin Zang: "Whenever I greet someone I give them a peace sign or I'll say stuff like 'groovy'
or 'hip,' or stuff like that. It's funny that you spend so much time here and then you get
into the character, and it kind of trails along you throughout the day."
Matt Bessette: "We've been in a war for, I don't know, eight or nine years. It's something
that rings true to what they were fighting for back then."
Marcia Douglas: "There are music majors and there are theater majors and there are art
majors and a chemical engineering major--I mean, they're from all over. It's been really
great to see them really come together and create something new--an ensemble that really
has a life of its own."
