A reading from the holy Gospel According to John.
Glory to You, Oh Lord.
May your Word be always on my mind, on my lips, and on my heart.
John was standing with two of his disciples, and as he watched Jesus walk by, he said,
"Behold, the Lamb of God."
The two disciples heard what he said and followed Jesus.
Jesus turned and saw them following him and said to them,
"What are you looking for?"
They said to him, "Rabbi" — which translated means Teacher —,
"where are you staying?"
He said to them, "Come, and you will see."
So they went and saw where Jesus was staying, and they stayed with him that day.
It was about four in the afternoon.
Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who heard John and followed
Jesus.
He first found his own brother Simon and told him,
"We have found the Messiah" — which is translated Christ —.
Then he brought him to Jesus.
Jesus looked at him and said, "You are Simon the son of John;
you will be called Cephas" — which is translated Peter.
John the Baptist points to Jesus.
Jesus is the lamb of God.
The Jews used to sacrifice lambs for their sins.
Jesus is the lamb of God because He is sacrificed for our sins.
Jesus asks, “What are you looking for?”
We all want real happiness.
We want real happiness.
We are all looking for God.
Jesus is God.
Jesus is God.
We are really happy when we have Jesus.
Ultimately we are all looking for Jesus.
When we find what we are looking for, we want to tell other people.
Just like Andrew wanted to go and tell his brother Simon.
Nothing in life is more important than a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Nothing in life is more important than a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
We are all looking for a personal relationship with Jesus.
And I would like to invite you to watch The Journey Home on EWTN on January 15, where
