president park geun-hye is in davos for this year's world economic forum.
ahead of the forum's official opening president park spent the day meeting
with business leaders from around the world to urge them to invest more in
korea. our presidential correspondent eoh jin-joo

president has the details. promoting korea to the world's business leaders
was the name of the game
for president park... on the eve of the world economic forum in davos.
taking part in korea night an event dedicated to showcasing korean
culture and technology which has been held in davos for six straight years
now... president park called on the world's most powerful executives to look
for investment opportunities in korea's so -called creative economy.
she promised to ease regulations on investment except for ones that are
truly necessary... to foster a better environment for foreign businesses.
we are opening doors to make korea the optimum environment in which to
do business and to allow global companies to fully invest in korea. i hope
you seize the opportunities available in korea to leap forward.
among the global figures attending the event were...lloyd's chairman john
nelson and jacob frenkel chairman of jpmorgan chase international.
president park also met with cisco ceo john chambers...
i wanted to meet you for a year now. thank you for giving us the time.
... and discussed ways to cooperate in the sector of internet of everything.
many people in korea are taking note of internet of everything and are
talking about it a lot.
internet of everything is a rising industry that aims at connecting objects in
homes offices cars and elsewhere to the internet ... so they automatically
adjust to people's needs and preferences. president park asked cisco to actively invest
in korea and closely work with
korean firms to help the nation realize her vision of a creative economy.
chambers said cisco's joint project with the british government to develop
the european country's high-tech industry is very similar to president park's
vision. he then said he would be very happy to expand
cooperation with korean
institutions and companies in the sector.
president park will make an opening speech on the creative economy and
entrepreneurship at the first session of this year's world economic forum on
wednesday. she will also pitch korea's qual ities to the ceos of global
companies like qualcomm aramco and siemens .
