Hi. We're going to find out today how to go to our class blog and look at a post that
a classmate or I has made and comment on it. So, when you get your Internet Explorer open,
go to the navigation bar and type in http://kidblog.org/missgsclass-5/ and then hit the enter key.
Ok, when this comes up, you're going to be able to see that you're in Miss G's class
and you'll be able to see all the posts that have been made on the blog so far. But you
need to be logged in to look at any of these or to comment on them. So, make sure you go
to the right hand corner and click log in. Select your name from the drop down menu.
I'm going to pick one of you because yours looks a little different than mine. So I'll
log in and then you'll be able to see the same screen and all of the blog posts that
have been made so far. So you are able to click on any of the posts that you want to
read or that you want to comment on. Just click the title and you'll be able to see
who wrote it. You can read their post, and if you want to leave a comment there's a nice
section right here - leave a comment. You click in the box and you type a comment to
the person that you read their blog. So I might want to say something about how I like
their story. And then when I'm done, I go to the submit comment button and push it.
And you'll see that it says "your comment is awaiting moderation". That means that I
have to go in and approve your comment, and as soon as I push the approve button from
my teacher page, then your post or your comment will show up and the rest of the class can
see it. So when you're done you can go back to All
Blogs and it will come back up. If you want to make your own post, you just click "new
post" and you put a title in here - whatever your title might be. And you can type your
story or your book review or whatever you're doing.
And when you get done, you can scroll down, and you can push this button "submit for review"
and that will send it to me, and I will approve your post.
As soon as you're done don't forget to log out. That will bring you back to this page,
and that's how we use the blog at home.
