Face it, we've been had. Unless you were smart enough not to believe the rumors. If you did,
I won't judge you. But know this: tweeting death threats to Dave Meltzer and CM Punk
won't get you anywhere... Let's move on people!
Even the most level headed of logical wrestling fans can get caught up in the hype every now
and then.
Despite multiple reports to the contrary, CM Punk was a no show on this week's episode
of Monday Night Raw.
Well... he was never booked to appear in the first place so does that really count as a
"no show?"
Punk fans chose to believe that he would return on Monday Night because the alternative to
that would be too much too handle, depending on your perspective:
And believe me, there are a lot of different perspectives floating around out there.
"Punk is gone and he doesn't care about his fans."
"Punk is gone and he's never coming back." "Punk is a whiny little hot head who breached
his contract."
Or ( the one I choose to hang my hat on) He's taking some personal time to heal and deal
with family matters.
For goodness sake, the man had to file a restraining order against his own Mother last year. And
when you take into consideration that Punk's straight edge lifestyle probably keeps him
from taking some of the more hardcore prescription pain killers that are available to other pro
wrestlers, the idea of time off or hiatus or even retirement is not that far fetched.
I'm not making excuses for what he did because I don't know why he did what he did, no one
does. But I do know that sh*t happens and that when
and if CM Punk is ever ready to return to the WWE, he will.
But until then, I prefer to imagine that he's chillin' at his place, eating ice cream in
a hoodie and playing the new South Park video game.
And really, is that so wrong? Hell, I did that last night too.
