My name is Julia Buckley.
I'm a local Councillor here in Bridgnorth, where I
live with my family my husband and two children.
People ask me why am I standing for Parliament
and the truth is over the last couple of years,
I, probably like everybody became
quite detached from all these political decisions.
I'd watched them on the TV think it had nothing to do with me,
or that somebody else could sort it all out
and just hope that things would get better.
but things haven't got better.
In fact the cuts to public services have got so severe,
that what we're seeing is the biggest growth in inequality in our lifetime in this
country. And really I feel now, that this is become so serious it's really
important to stand up for what is right and to try to make a difference to try
and bring about a fairer society.
There's really a strong movement for change and to have compassionate
politicians that represent ordinary people.
