AYE JAYE: In the book "The Golden Rule of Schmoozing," I have a kid chapter. And the
chapter reads, "If I wrote the ABCs, I would be next to you." Again, I'm good at it. I
understand them. So that worked out, especially I have a bunch. And we've brought a bunch
into the house and raised them up. If I'm in a supermarket and a kid is screaming, I'll
generally go, "Is someone crying? Who's crying around here?" And the kid will look at me
and go up to his mom and hug her leg, and you'll see the mom go, "Thank you." It works
every time. It's a wonderful thing because you're that crazy stranger in the supermarket.
Number 2, if I'm on a plane and a kid is--I do this everywhere. If a kid is walking down
the aisle, where his parents will see, "Excuse me, are you the pilot?" And that just happened
to me and a little girl said to me, "No, I'm a kid." She cracked the entire plane up. But
anywhere you go, if a kid is in a stroller at Kmart with his parents, I'll say, "Hi,
are you the manager?" The parents laugh like crazy. But that's a father thing that I do,
item 1. Item 2, I always have this going for me, which is a wonderful little puppet that
I bring out and I carry shaper balloons wherever I go. All of these things are in my book and
that works.
