>> DANI: Hello everyone and welcome to this month's videoblog.
As usual, once per month I record myself using my webcam and I tell my life and that things...
And today I wanted to talk to you about three things that I wanted to say.
First of all. Let me call to everybody watching this video, to all my subscribers...
because next month I'll do one year uploading YouTube videos as part of the Makigas Project.
This is, 11 months ago I uploaded my first video.
And, that means that next month's videoblog topic is clear that it's going to be...
about talking how has my year been, to look back in the time, to look today...
see how things were before and how are they now...
and I wanted to do something, that it's not the usual thing apart of me talking.
I want to join this fashion -it's a fashion and I shouldn't negate it...
about recording a video answering questions.
For anybody of you who lives under a rock and doesn't know what is this let me define...
what is this video. Basically, via YouTube comments or via Twitter mentions...
people who watch the video write questions...
and who makes the video, answers them and tell about the videos, the channel...
or even about myself. This video is going to be up the next month.
It's not going to be a live streaming because I don't have the equipment nor capacity to do that.
I don't have equipment because my Internet connection is really slow and I don't know why.
And also, I wouldn't be able to do it because always I do...
things like these, usually unexpected things happen, which weren't planned at all.
So, if I'm going to fail live, at least let me do it before I show you that.
So that at least I can see it and avoid any unexpected thing to happen.
So, it's not live but pre-recorded. So...
you have since today until about July 1st, because that is the day when...
I start writing the script. The video has to be up on July 6th, because that's the day...
that my channel gets its first birthday. You can leave questions in the comments box...
Or you can tweet me right away. You also can post them in the official link...
that once I upload this video I'll leave on the official Facebook page.
And just because I don't expect so many answers because this is not a big channel...
Unless I find offensive questions, I'll answer anything you want me to answer.
No censoring. Said that, I call you... you can...
hear this as you want to hear it. Second thing I wanted to talk is about the playlists...
OK? New playlists, old playlists, incoming playlists and outcoming playlists.
It's 2 weeks about since the ending of May...
when I published a blogpost in the Makiblog where I said that I wasn't going to focus in...
my libgdx Game Development playlist and more on new content. In fact this month I just started...
my PHP tutorial. There are two episodes online. I still have to caption the third one but...
it's on the way to be uploaded, and slowly I'm focusing on some new content.
I said that on a blog post, and now I want to talk about that in an update video because...
I said that two weeks ago but things seems to be changing because of two reasons.
First of all: something strange happened, strange to me because it never happened.
It never happened since a long time that after I wrote a blog post...
somewhere somebody commented on it. And that blog post I published has 4 comments now.
I can see them there. Some of them are like "I understand your decision..."
"I understand you want to do other things". There are also some comments that were interesting...
enough to call me. Such as one written by Javier, who says "you can be a libgdx guru".
So, I can become a guru. I read this yesterday and actually I...
think it was fun because thinking that I can become a guru or something...
I don't say it's bad. Actually I love it. However...
I try to keep humble and don't take this things as "now I'm like a god"...
But, I liked this comment saying that I'm becoming a guru.
Actually it's a series that I consider really important and that's why I'm not finishing it.
I just said that I'll record less of that and more about new things.
It's a precious playlist to me and to you.
There isn't many documentation about libgdx in Spanish around the Internet.
Indeed it's little and it's all the same. "Hello world" and that.
Not so many people is brave enough to dive so deep into the API, and I'm one of those people.
And I'm talking about English language. In Spanish there's even less.
If you search on YouTube, for example, "libgdx tutorial in spanish"...
apart of my video you should see one other. Which also...
I didn't see it because it's two hours long but...
the point is that there's not so many documentation in Spanish and...
that's why I think that explaining this library is precious. However...
it's all about things and...
to me, developing documentation, and inventing it, is hard sometimes.
And it's just that. So, I'm recording less GDX and more new things.
OK. Anyway, that was first. Second, also...
it's not so less content that I will record because of the third thing I wanted to talk about today.
I'm talking about first, second, then third. I'm lost.
The fact that you can see Eclipse IDE behind me it's not casuality.
Because, finally, after 6 months trying and after so many...
failed attemps, it seems that I'm finally getting my first small videogame done.
I said small because this time I learnt the lesson...
and instead of starting something big, I'm starting something little, a mini-game.
And actually it's not going so bad. It's being gone in libgdx.
And everything I'm learning, all the experience that I'm taking with...
what I'm doing and what I'm coding, keep in mind that...
it's going to be squeezed and uploaded to YouTube. Maybe all those things that...
I'm finding by just searching on Stack Overflow will finally end here someday as new episodes.
Also, I wanted to talk about the game because it's the first time that...
I talk about this game on the Internet.
Until now, I usually...
post something in Twitter or add a photo or a screen capture in my blog but...
until now, I haven't let the world know about this until now that I'm telling it.
I'm going to show it to you. It's a phone app. That's the idea on releasing it. I'm using my...
tablet just because you can see it better becuase it has an HD screen.
It's... really on an alpha stage but it's...
pretty cool. I'm turning the volume up so you can hear the sound effects.
It's the typical ball puzzle game, like many other games for cell phones.
And it's fun. Mostly all the source code base was done...
in the recent days but yesterday I started to port it to handheld.
Actually yesterday before going to bed I said "I'm going to play this" just to see if...
I really like it or not. And let me tell you I played for abuot half an hour to this.
Or maybe it's just me that I consider myself addicted to these games.
But the game is fun. So, for now, I'll be giving you updates...
about the game as the time passes by, but...
it's fun. At least I think it's really cool.
As I said the fact that it's done in GDX means that what I'm learning...
will finally be uploaded to YouTube, because...
then I can have some new topics to talk about. Another problem with GDX playlist is that...
the episode structure is not so clean because it's hard to plan it...
just as documentation is little, as I say.
They are new things, things that I didn't know.
And I recognize this: most of my libgdx playlist videos that I upload teach things that...
I learnt maybe a week before uploading, maybe even the previous day.
Or even an hour before start recording. Something that was so awesome that made me say...
"I have to record this". But maybe this is opening my minds on it.
About libgdx game development. When I wrote my first blog post...
I said... let me search it because otherwise I wouldn't remember.
I said... if my computer worked...
I said that I didn't consider mobile a strong platform development but...
that's because I always kept in mind the idea about a monster game that ate resources...
and that, and now that I'm doing this, I'm seeing that actually...
I was so wrong. These things are fine, so...
I'm going to produce less libgdx content but I'll produce it.
I'll upload more videos during this month even if they aren't a lot.
Said that, I think it's enough for today. So, I'm closing this video here.
We'll see next month on the next videoblog, or later in new videos...
so have a good day, and as usual, see you later.
