The abuses committed by the Romanian Intelligence Service,
the Department of Prosecutors and Gendarmerie against
The Movement of Spiritual Integration in Absolute had the following consequences:
the Council for the Protection of Human Rights, Helsinki Committee, APADOR-CH required
the resignation of the manager of the Romanian Intelligence Service,
Radu Timofte and of the Home Affairs minister, Ioan Rus and even of the Government.
The Committee of the Human Rights took this decision,
not waiting for the ruling according to the procedures,
because it considered being obvious the seriousness of the actions
committed against the Yoga School MISA and its spiritual mentor, Gregorian Bivolaru.
In APADOR-CH's president opinion, the author of these abuses
is the Romanian Intelligence Service, (SRI). SRI broke some elementary rules
regarding human rights, by its actions undertook against MISA.
It put MISA under surveillance, not saying why the security of the state is in danger.
It manipulated the press and made some statements that misled the public opinion.
"When a young man, a minor is pushed to the ground and is threaten by a weapon
that is pointing his head, then it is obvious that important rules were outrageously broken.
A Romanian Intelligence Service that is acting in such a manner, is a menace for the democracy.
This is why I state that the manager Radu Timofte must resign."
The last abuse committed by the Ministry of Home Affairs' management
consisted in stopping the meeting organized by Movement of Spiritual Integration in Absolute
from the 5-th of March 2004.
5000 of followers of the movement gathered in front of the Government
for defending their rights peacefully: the right for thought freedom, spiritual freedom
and the presumption of innocence.
8 article: " Until the final sentencing of the judges is made,
the individual is considered not guilty."
"The action of the Police and of the Gendarmerie was absolutely illegal.
The meeting had been announced 3 days before, in fact 4 days before.
The law no. 60, from 1991 allows us to deposit this notice
at the Mayoralty of the capital and the approval
of the meeting is not required, but only the announcing of it.
We fulfilled all the legal terms. The reaction of the policemen and of the gendarmes
was completely illegal. They had no other excuse but the order of their superiors.
They have even said that they act according to the orders of their superiors."
And the injustice goes on. Despite the fact that he owned legal papers
necessary for the meeting, the vice-president of the movement,
Claudiu Trandafir was taken to the Police and fined for breaking the public manifestation law,
with a maximum fine of 20 millions lei. The conclusion may be only one.
As the president of APADOR-CH has sustained, in a country that wants to be at an European level,
as Romania would like to, the obvious breaking of the laws
could not be solve, but only with the resignation of the Government.
"If we situate ourselves at an European level, we think that such an obvious breaking
of the Romanian laws will be solved with dignity, by the resignation of the Government."
