Create Faux Mulberry Paper Texture with Tissue Paper

Hi, this is Deborah from Dinglefoot's Scrapbooking, and this week I'm going to show you how to make a mulberry paper texture for your projects like cards & scrapbook pages was just going to be using gift tissue paper to do this technique, So this is just any old tissue paper that you would stuff in a bag, so I just tore off a piece that was decent sized, so I have room to work and then I'm going to be using this for a panel for my card so I'm going to be putting it on this sheet of paper and you can see this is quite a bit larger , but I just want to make sure I have enough room to work with, so I just yanked a piece off my big piece of tissue paper and I have a white card and then I cut this white piece here for the front at four inches by three and a half inches and then the red piece of paper that I'm going to mat it on is 4 and a quarter inches by three and three-quarter inches so if you cut this one just slightly larger so you have a nice mat. This card looks really plain right now. We just have white and then little edge in red and then some more white. We have some other bits and pieces...we're going to be using this butterfly from gemstone insects. It a really nice big butterfly probably about two-and-a-half to three inches, a really nice big one. I also have a little greeting -- a "Thinking of You" stamp and that was just a stamp I got in a set, I don't remember what it was, just a generic greeting. I have three mini black brads just to accent my card and I have some this beautiful Red Dragon embossing powders and a glue stick. I have a scrap piece of cardstock. So I'm going to be stamping this butterfly two times -- one time on my tissue paper and once on my scrap paper. I also have scissors and I have a little needle to poke holes in my cart stock to put my brads through. I have black ink and I have my heat tool also because of the embossing powder. Okay, to start with the stamping, I'm actually going to put this piece of white cardstock under my tissue paper because I just want to make sure that since my butterfly stamp is so large I want to make sure that my stamping and everything is going to fit correctly on the front of my card, so I need it to fit on this piece of white paper so I'm going to take this stamp and stamp like sideways Press said town really couldn't change think itself from underneath now so now I'm going then got my reading and I'm also going to be standing that right on the tissue paper SanDisk instinct yes down underneath the butterfly some just their set aside that tissue paper for now and now I'm going to step my fire play ken and when I stamp it I wanna make sure that think is still wet when I put on the embossing powder some stamp that and then quickly dumped on the embossing powder in your house wanna make sure you have that really is really well covered with the embossing powders I make sure I think stamp is really nice and wet yeah and I wasn't that great on the scrap paper it doesn't matter where and doesn't matter if it's straight or anything because we're actually going to take your sure you're creating straight on it so it doesn't look funny when you're done so I need to make sure my greeting is straight on it and you can peel this up if you do it right away you can kill it out if you made a mistake in covering a range it sign in to make sure my big butterfly goes on my car and that make leading is also straight on here see may have to play around with it just a little bit
