Volvo Truck Battery Maintenance

Hi my name is Dave, and I'm a technician here at Wheeling Truck Center,
and today we're talking a bit about battery maintenance
You notice on these batteries the green corrosion and the grease someone used to
actually attract debris.
It is very important for battery maintenance, one of the most important
features on a truck with today's electronics.
Now we're going to show you an
example of a clean battery system. You notice all the
connections are clean, free of grease or debris or corrosion.
All the terminals are tight, and everything's in good condition and
for those of you are not familiar with Volvo trucks, they do offer
battery shut off
which is when a truck sits for a while, you can shut it down and that takes away battery power
for longer battery life.
