Meaning of Hispanic // Spanish - Hispanic - Spaniard

The definition of Hispanic has been made up in the US with an absolute lack of accuracy on knowledge to the actual original meaning of the word in the US it's basically someone who's more or less a mix of (or pure) Native American (from Aztecs in Mexico to the Incas in Peru, etc) and black and maybe even white and happen to have Spanish as their native language. That is completely wrong and absurd from the Spanish point of view Spain has never classified people by race but by nationality and this is how it should be keep in mind that we spaniards do NOT think in English nor do we give OUR words the absurd meaning that's been made up in the US to create a new box for ethnicity in their immigrations forms Hispania was the province of the Roman Empire, the Roman name for the Iberian Peninsula. The modern name Spain derives from Hispania. Hispanics were the citizens from Hispania. Hispania was also used in the period of Visigothic rule.
