When Walmart opened stored in Denver, they got $1.7 million in city subsidies, es, if the money had gone to the Denver Public Schools system, they wouldn't had have to shut down three schools. Subsidies also give Walmart an unfair business advantage over small, locally owned stores that offer better pay and benefits for their workers. Enough is enough. All working people deserve fair wages and benefits. Workers in more than 2,000 stores have come together to call for Walmart to increase wages to a minimum of $13 an hour and access to full-time hours.
