Starting back in 2007, 2008
A lot of the merchants were saying, you know, the promise of mobile is really
Powerful, we're starting to see a lot of consumers coming into our stores not
just talking on their phones but,
Using them to interact, you know, looking up product information
Merchants back in that time were thinking about
mobilizing their loyalty programs.
And then of course the promise of being able to leverage the interactivity of
the phone to do things with payments
Really presented an opportunity to be comprehensive. So everything that a
consumer
thinks about as it relates to spending money, saving money that
Includes coupons, that includes the loyalty cards that sit on my key chain
It includes the multiple credit cards and debit cards that happen to sit
inside of my wallet
What Isis
set out to do and what we've been working on
For quite a while now
is convening a bunch of
industry partners, so that means working with the banks
that are the credit cards and debit cards in your leather wallet working
with the merchants that you typically shop at
Working with the payment terminal manufacturers so that I can tap my phone
And the credit card, and the coupon and the loyalty card can get seamlessly
delivered
with what we
refer to as 'smart tap' transaction, but it's all via single touch.
To a payment terminal
and then
making sure that the service is integrated in a way that
delivers on the promise,
not only of convenience to the consumer of having all of those things
in a single place inside the mobile phone,
But that also delivers on the promise of the security of the channel, because we get
asked a lot
Is it secure? And it's actually one of the biggest benefits of
the program in addition to the convenience, because a single call to
your carrier kills all
of your, all of the cards that are in your wallet,
until you get a new account and they can be seamlessly reactivated.
