Video is only one aspect of successful online marketing, so here’s Wee Bytes; bite-size
tutorials to help you build up your business online.
Hi. My name is Jonathan Maxwell form Media Mount, an internet application development
agency.
One of the questions I am asked most frequently is ‘how do I get to the top of Google?’
I want to share a practical piece of advice that will help you do that more effectively.
If I search in Google for luxury men’s gifts, one of my customers, henrytibbs.com, appears
at the top of the list.
But where did Google get that text link from?
Notice the text at the top of the page is exactly the same as the text in the Google
link.
It is called the page title.
It is a summary of the content of the page below and also acts as a mental trigger for
visitors to click on within the Google results.
If you can edit the code on your webpage, it may look a bit confusing. But if you scroll
to the top, between these two title tags, is the text that you need to edit to change
the page title.
Make sure that the page title contains the key words that people will be searching for.
This will help more people find your website link in Google.
