Hi there, this is Chris Knight from SevenWellness.com
I'm going to show you today
how to do squats on the BoSu ball.
Now there's a few different variations
and we're just gonna get straight to it
I'm going to start
with the BoSU...
I call this one right-side down.
Because to me the other side
is the top.
With it face down
grab you dumbbells now you can use a kettle bell, or you can grab a five pound
bag a sugar since that's really all that it's good for it.
Just grab something that is going to help you challenge yourself
a little bit more.
If you think the start with body weight
that's absolutely fine also and then just work your way up five pounds at a time.
Ok, what we're giong to do is
bring those tumbles right up your shoulder.
Then, go down into a squat position
and back up.
This actually helps a little bit
with knee strain if you're having issues with your knees.
Just because as you go down
the BoSu rocks forward,
takes a little bit of pressure off.
Now
you can add
some movement into the motion
if you look like to.
Now...
there is a double leg squat.
What I'd like to do also is a single leg squat.
But with this one
I do my best
not to actually touch the ground.
Also, pay
really close attention to
for my knee
not to go past my toes.
So... do it like you're sitting down in a chair.
With that exericse
I would say try to do
twelve repetitions on each side then switch legs.
Do a couple sets of that move. So two sets of 12 on each leg.
Then you may increase the weight has long as you have good form, more weight is fine.
Never sacrafice good form and technique to lift heavier weight!
Same exercise
but now we're going to do it
with the BoSu right-side up.
This one
you need to get your
foot placement right.
You'll then kind of force
the in-step of your foot
to be nice and falt. Here your stance will be a little more narrow so really watch the knees.
Make sure they don't go past your toes on this one.
So bring the weights up.
Squat down.
Hold it for a second.
It doesn't have to be very long.
That's it!
These exercises here
will be great for your hips and thighs.
I know that everybody
loves to have
great hips and thighs!
Those are some things I want you to try. Just incorporate them either at the gym or at home. If
you don't have your own BoSU already
I've conveniently added a link (to Amazon.com) in the description box of
this video on YouTube. That way you can just easily be taken to a place
where you know they're a reputable company and you can
just read about
the details of what a BoSu is
and also if you want to you are able to do it there because there are very few
retailers who actually carry it on the shelf.
It retails for about $120-130.
There are countless exercises that are really going to help you...
at the next level
of getting tone by providing that little bit of instability. It is definitely worth the
little expense.
Give those a try..
