It was another round of Sudden Death for the ladies -- and emotions were running high on
stage... AND on the judging panel -- we’re looking at you Nicki Minaj. Hi everyone I’m
Brian Corsetti and TVLINE.com has your American Idol highlights.
Last night’s American Idol was all about Zoanette Johnson. The singer known for her
massive blond mane got a standing ovation for her performance of The Lion King’s “Circle
of Life”, and earned the title Queen of the Jungle from Keith Urban.
Nicki Minaj was so moved by Zoanette’s performance that she couldn’t stop gushing -- or keep
the tears from falling.
Zoanette was sent through to the next round and joined by fellow contestants Aubrey Cleland,
Janelle Arthur, and Breanna Steer -- whose performance of Jazmine Sullivan’s “Bust
Your Windows” was, according to Nicki, “sexy on a stick.”
Rachel Hale, sang "Nothing But the Water" by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals.
She received high marks from the judges, but it wasn’t enough to keep her from getting
the boot -- along with Cristabel Clack, Jett Hermano, Juliana Chahayed and early favorite
Melinda Ademi -- whose nerves seemed to get the best of her.
Candice Glover was sent home during last year’s Vegas rounds but after singing Aretha Franklin’s
“Natural Woman” Wednesday night -- she solidified her place in the competition.
The final 10 guys face Sudden Death tonight -- Check back here for all the highlights.
