NBA San Antonio Spurs vs Brooklyn Nets ENG This Thursday February the 6th the San Antonio
Spurs will travel to the Barclays Center to play the struggling Brooklyn Nets.
San Antonio is a great example of order, discipline and consistency as opposed to the irregular
Brooklyn Nets who are still trying to find a constant rhythm and game.
This season the Spurs are 35-13 SU and just won their last two games in a row, but some
problems might be looming over the horizon as they will not count with the Argentinean
Manu Ginobili due to an injury that could keep him out of the game for at least 3 weeks,
in his place the Italian Marco Belineli will try to fill in the void and step up for the
team, maybe even earn a full time spot in the main line up.
Though the Spurs have been winning games, they aren't really a solid bet as they stand
with a 23-25 ATS record overall; HOWEVER, when playing on the road they have a nice
13-9 ATS record. As for Brooklyn, they've gone 21-25 SU for
the season and are ranking 7th in the Eastern Conference, and have only won 1 of their last
4 games, losing to the Raptos, Thunder and Pacers, with that lonely victory coming against
the Sixers 108-102. The Nets have gone 13-11 SU when playing at
home, but 11-13 ATS in the same venue, their overall ATS record is 22-24, which doesn't
really inspire confidence when thinking of placing a bet on them.
As for the Odds, SBRodds page is showing the Road team favored by 7.5 points while the
total is around 197.5. The Spurs have already won 9 of the last 10
matches against the Nets in any venue; they've also been able to cover the spread in 6 of
those 10 matches including the last 4 in a row.
To make our final pick we also checked out the scoring stats for each team, where found
that San Antonio posts up an average of 103.7ppg and only allows an average of 96.7ppg, while
the Nets only post up an average of 97.5ppg and allow an average of 100.3ppg.
After checking the stats and analyzing the odds, we think the best play has to be on
the Spurs @ -7.5 as they are obviously playing better ball than Jason Kidds' team.
