What Causes an Ingrown Toenail?

so what causes ingrown toenails most typically it's the patient themselves particularly in the uh... adolescent age group because they will pick at their toenails they won't trim them them properly they'll cut into the corners they'll tear away at the corners and cause the condition themselves uh... other than that sometimes it's genetics i've had families come in and its just one sibling and the other and mom had the problem or dad had the problem uh... so sometimes it is genetics sometimes it is genetics sometimes its trauma sometimes you bump your toe and that will cause an ingrown toenail uh... and shoe gear sometimes it's improper shoe gear shoes that are too tight whether they're too short or too pointy that can cause ingrown toenails
