"Hi, I'm Debbie Catz. I'm a certified clinical hypnotherapist here in the San Francisco Bay
area. I have a masters degree in social work. To learn more about this you can visit my
website at www.norcalhypno.com. And now I'm going to help you understand the simplicity
of hypnosis. So the way the mind works with hypnosis is to condition the mind, and the
way we condition the mind is through repetition. So if you listen to something over and over
again, a recording, even music, once you put that music on and if you listen to it enough,
you put the music on, the mind remembers it and it begins to relax. So condition is one
way to relieve stress. So if you take 10 minutes every day out of your day and do something,
whether be listening to music, or just sitting down and doing some deep breathing, that repetition
will help to relieve the stress.
And you will be surprised how just taking 10 minutes a day or twice a day, to allow
yourself to relax will relieve your stress so, so much better than continuing to work
and work and do what we all do in our society.
So if you take just 10 minutes a day, and sit down, put on some quite music, take some
deep breaths, and perhaps picture yourself in a favorite spot, out in nature may be,
perhaps at a beach, may be in the mountains, seeing all your favorite things use your senses,
use all your senses to be here.
And what you are doing by doing this is that you are quieting the conscious mind. And when
the conscious mind which is where the stress come from, when the conscious mind is quieted,
then the subconscious mind is open and the stress is flowing out of you, also picturing
the stress, starting at the top of your head and just picture relaxation. It can be a warm
gush of light, anything and have it picture it going from the top of your head gushing
right down taking all the stress with it right through your body and out the tips of your
toes. And just visualize that leaving your body from the tips of your toes. So taking
yourself to a favorite place in nature, doing some deep breathing is really going to help
you relieve stress in your daily life."
