You all really love your superheroes fighting each other — and rightfully so — because Captain
America: Civil War pulled in 181.8 million dollars domestically over
the weekend. That means it’s the fifth biggest bow of all time at the
North American box office placed appropriately between Iron Man 3 at
number six and Avengers Age of Ultron at number four. On top of that, Captain
America: Civil War has already surpassed the domestic total of Steve Rogers first film,
and easily doubled Winter Soldier’s initial take. Which makes sense,
because this one has Iron Man it in. Ya know,
an actually cool and funny superhero, who’s not a goody two shoes. Yeah, I went there.
Now, not even dreamy dad Ryu could help Street Fighter 5 rise up to meet its sales
targets. The fighting game sold 1.4 million copies between launch and
March 31st, but you see, Capcom targeted 2 million copies sold during that period.
Trust me, it never feels good to miss, like I unfortunately do every time I attempt a shoryuken
Anyway, a bit of advice, Capcom: Next time, maybe try including a Story Mode upfront,
especially for people like me who don’t want to get rekt in online play.
Mama mia, Minecraft is getting a pretty super free update on Wii U. The Super Mario Mash-Up Pack is
heading to the sandbox game on May 17th, bringing character skins
for Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Bowser, Wario and more to Minecraft. And yes,
thank the Nintendo gods, Waluigi is represented as well. [Best Waluigi laugh] Wah - hahahaha!
Now the free pack will also bring 15 pieces of music as well as Hammer Bros.
and Dry Bones enemies, so needless to say, I give Nintendo and Microsoft
a huge power star for making this happen. And that’s your Daily Fix for May 9th. I’m Naomi Kyle — if you want more news,
make sure you download the official IGN app — and remember you can get your Fix anytime
online at IGN.
