Militia Movement on the Rise Across the U.S.

if you're in the business of concerned about the economy and you happen to be the a business of selling animal issued gear according to the southern la poverty center back in two three two thousand and eight there are only a hundred and forty nine militia groups nationwide but fortunately over the past five years for a half now we have seen a rise of over eleven hundred militia groups we are now at twelve hundred and seventy-four militia groups uh... in this country uh... w s cosi t_v_ charlotte north carolina hasn't really heartwarming story about uh... the freedom warriors national militia down in hickory north carolina it's a national militia with apparently fifteen members commanded by commander james kendrick and his wife train subtle there persons apparently they wear uniforms and according to the commander our rules are more strict in the u_s_ military's rules as far as being highly professional at all times twenty four seven professional that includes his wife calling him commander kendrick instead of his first name uh... it appears that uh... none of these are members of this militia have actually served in the military uh... but they are ready if we are ever called on then yes we will step up to the plate an asking uh... they're prepared to fight defend the nation we have no problem illa time i see that happening is it is if we are attacked by a foreign entity so there you go uh... they wear uniform not sure what uh... what the uniform is apparently the uh... they spend much of their time though however helping the local community from volunteering at a local soup kitchen to helping families who are dealing with hardships so that's not bad um... kendrick says the members of the every week at his apartment in hillside gardens complex receives government assistance through the hickory housing authority is disabled and gets assistants uh... but wanted to live there hope in the group could have a positive impact on low-income neighborhood someone else uh... in that uh... neighborhood said i think it's just for show because if they're trying to cut crime down please wouldn't be called as much they're not helping us out nine it just wearing the clothes said hickory resident marie should covington kantor says he's a new breed of uh... bush is where the militia that actually stepped up so your ego folks new militias on the rise
