How to Replace a Car Trunk - How to mount a car trunk floor

Hi I?m Doug. I work with 20 great guys in St. Louis at Doug Jenkins custom hotrods.
And we're going to do some work for you today on Expert Village. This piece here is the
trunk floor body mount. It's fastened to the trunk by being welded here and it's bolted
from beneath down here. These pieces are a natural part to replace when cutting out the
trunk floor since they're rotten and attached to the new trunk floor as well. And this is
the piece that we're going to weld in in its place. It has a captive nut in it for bolting
to the body. We'll end up replacing the body bushing as well and that piece will be torched
out, cut out with a hot torch while Alex is cutting the rest of this out. And he'll put
the trunk floor in first and when he has that established then he'll weld this to the bottom
of the trunk floor in the right location for the body bushing.
