Hi, guys, today I'm gonna be doing an up-do for you.
This is perfect for the party season. So Christmas and New Year.
It's really pretty and really simple to do.
All you're gonna need is a lot of bobby pins to pin the hair,
a hair band, a back-combing brush,
if you want to do back combing that is, you don't have to.
You can always skip that step if you want,
and then also something to curl your hair with.
I'm gonna be using my hair straighteners to curl my hair,
but you could also use curling tongs or a wand,
whichever you find easiest.
And then also just some hairspray just to hold the look in place.
For this look, I'm gonna do a deep side parting.
And to do this, I'm using the rat tail comb
which is on the end of the back-combing brush
which is nice and handy.
So I'm gonna go from the arch of my eyebrow,
and just take the rat tail comb through the hair
and then flip it over to that side.
By going from the arch of the eyebrow,
I find that it just flatters your face really nicely,
so that's what I tend to go by.
You want to make sure, though, when you create a side parting
once you've already clipped in your hair extensions
that you've still got enough hair on top to cover the wefts.
The next step I'm gonna do is I'm just gonna back comb
a bit on top just to give some added volume and shape to the hair.
So I'm gonna go on the sides as well,
so just picking up sections of hair...
and just teasing them gently.
So once you've back combed the hair,
I'm gonna sweep all the hair over to the side.
And I'm just gonna tie it in a loose ponytail on the side.
So just taking my hair band...
Once you've got your hair in the side ponytail,
we're gonna start curling the hair.
So I've got my hair straighteners.
And I'm just gonna pick up random sections of hair and curl them.
If you want to see a video on how to curl your hair
using straighteners, I have done one,
so I will leave that link.
Basically, all you want to do is take your section,
put the hair straighteners in at the top
and then flip the hair straighteners right the way over
until the hair comes out the other side.
And then just gently, just pull the straighteners down the hair.
And you can see, you just get these really nice curls.
Once you finish curling your ponytail,
I'm just gonna break up the curls a bit, with my fingers,
just mess them up.
And then also just give it a quick spritz of hairspray
just to make sure the curls hold.
I'm also gonna do a little bit of back combing of the curls, so--
just to create some added volume.
I'm just taking my back combing brush and lightly combing up the ponytail...
and particularly kind of focus on the base of the ponytail
to create a lot of volume there.
So now I'm gonna take the bobby pins and pick up sections of the ponytail
and pin them up.
So there's no particular way to do this.
You just want to pick random sections and then randomly pin them.
