Hi I'm Amy and I'm going to show you how to set up a 7000 series respiratory humidifier.
You will be using a humidifier base, a humidifier chamber, a heated wire breathing system, a
bag of sterile water, a temperature probe assembly, a heated wire adaptor, and breathing
filters.
First put the humidifier into the ventilator bracket and connect to the mains.
Place the humidification chamber onto the humidifier and ensure it clicks into place.
Ensure the top of the humidifier chamber is placed lower than the patient airway position.
Add water to the humidifier chamber. In this case we are using an auto fill chamber.
To protect the ventilator we are using a low volume low resistance filter on the expiratory
limb.
And a high efficiency filter on the inspiratory limb.
Remove the cover and attach the short inspiratory limb.
Connect the breathing system. The connector with the temperature port goes on the chamber.
The expiratory limb goes on the ventilator.
Now connect the temperature probe.
Connect he heated wire adaptor.
connect the clover leaf to the inspiratory limb
And the oval connector goes to the expiratory limb.
Connect the ventilator to the gas supply and turn on
Carry out the pressure testing applicable to the ventilator protocol.
Ensure there is enough water in the chamber and then turn on the humidifier.
Turn the humidifier on by briefly holding the on off button.
The unit will then self test displaying all lights.
Then it will display the software version.
Finally it will revert to the last settings used.
The humidifier has coloured lights for each of the probes.
When highlighted green it indicates which probe temperature is shown in the displace.
This can be switched briefly by holding the 'Alarm - mute' button.
When highlighted amber the probe is detecting a lower temperature than is set.
You can mute this alarm for two minutes by pressing the 'Alarm - Mute' button.
The alarm is disabled while the humidifier warms up.
When highlighted red the probe is detecting a higher temperature than is set.
You can mute this alarm for two minutes by pressing the 'Alarm - Mute' button.
Any alarm condition left unresolved for 10 minutes results in the humidifier entering
the safety Stand-by Mode. The display will show '000'.
The unit must then be turned off and on to resume humidification.
Press and hold the MODE button to cycle through: Invasive mode - Non-Invasive mode - and Manual
mode
On entering Manual mode the humidifier will first display the current set airway temperature
- followed by the current set chamber temperature.
The airway temperature light will then flash indicating that you can now set your preferred
temperature at the airway probe using the up and down buttons.
Holding the SET button allows the chamber temp to be set using the up and down buttons.
As a safety feature the option to set the temperature is limited to 5 seconds of inactivity.
To re-adjust the set temperatures simply hold down the up or down button for two seconds.
That's the basic set-up. Please refer to the instructions for use for more information
Thanks for watching.
