How to download TrueCrypt Usb Encryption software.
Using Google search.
type in "TrueCrypt."
Click "Downloads."
scroll down and click "Download" for Windows 7 if that is the operating system you are using.
Click "Save File."
Right Click the Downloaded file and select"Open Containing Folder"
Copy the downloaded file of TrueCrypt.
Open the USB device and paste TrueCrypt in your USB device
that way you can install TrueCrypt on other machines.
Double click USB device
Run TrueCrypt.
Click "I accept the license terms."
Click "Next."
Install should already be selected.
Click "Install."
After installation completes click OK.
click Finish when complete.
Select No or if you select Yes, simply close down the tutorial browser.
Look for TrueCrypt on your desktop or Program files.
Double click to open TrueCrypt.
Create Volume.
This allows you to create a Container on your Usb jumpdrive
where you can drag files that you want encrypted and password protected.
I recommend you DO NOT encrypt the entire system partition or entire system drive just in case you forget the password.
If you do forget the password and your entire hard drive is encrypted, you might want to start shopping for a new hard drive or computer.
Select " Standard TrueCrypt volume."
Click Next.
Select File.
Locate your USB device and open it.
Name your encrypted folder.
Next
click next again
Input the amount of space you need to hold your confidential files.
If you have large files such as pictures, videos, etc, you might need more space.
Create a password you will remember.
DO NOT forget the password.
Click "Next."
Click Yes."
Move the mouse around to increase the cryptographic strength of the encryption keys then click "Format."
click OK
Then click "Exit."
Select any drive to the left, doesn't matter which one.
Select File
locate your USB device
Double click the container where your confidential files will be placed.
Click "Mount" to mount your encrypted folder onto your machine so that it acts as an additional drive on your computer.
Type in your password.
Double click the encrypted drive you mounted.
It will open up like any other folder would on your computer. You can now drag your confidential files into the encrypted folder.
When you are done, close the window.
Dismount all to disconnect the encrypted folder from your computer.
