This is going to be a crochet baby cap
Its made with the cluster
Tell me about a crochet project that you are proud of
It will be approximately 13 inches around upon completion
34 centimeters
From the top down here is approximately 5.5 inches
14 centimeters
This is the yarn I will be using
It is 3 ply yarn
A size F, 3. 75mm crochet hook
we will start by attaching a slip knot to the crochet hook
take the loose end, wrap it over the main strand, now you have a loop,
take the loop, wrap it over the main strand
put your hook below the center strand, back up the opposite side,
this creates the slip knot
we will work a chain of five
one
two
three
four
five
join with the beginning chain
joining is putting your hook through the first chain
wrap the yarn over pull through
pull through the loop on your hook
you have joined the chain into a ring
we will be working seven cluster stitches in the center
I am going to work a chain one, that will not count as a stitch, its my first step up
I have wrapped my yarn over the hook
I am going to put it through the center
wrap the yarn over on the back side pull through
yarn over pull through two
leave the two loops on the hook
wrap the yarn over the hook
put your hook through the center ring
wrap the yarn over pull through
yarn over pull through two
we will leave the three loops on the hook
wrap the yarn over your hook, put your hook through the ring
wrap the yarn over pull through
yarn over pull through two
we have four loops on the hook
leave all four loops on the hook
wrap the yarn over your hook, put your hook through the center ring
wrap the yarn over pull through
yarn over pull through two
we have five loops on the hook
wrap the yarn over, pull through all five loops
we have completed our stitch
this is the stitch that well will be using throughout the whole pattern
work a chain two
we will be working seven of these stitches
in the beginning chain
I am working on the second one
chain two
this is the third
and I am working right around the chain
wrap the yarn over, pull through all five loops
work a chain two
we have four more left
chain two
the reason I don't go through any of the chains is so I can do this
If I need a little extra room
like that, I can just give it a tug
and I can shape my stitches up
if I was going through the chain
that would secure my stitches
in one place
I want to be able to move them around like this
in case I need a little bit of extra room
we only have three more left
I am working the first part of this stitch
now it is almost complete
we have five loops on the hook
wrap the yarn over pull through all five loops
chain two
we have two more stitches to complete
chain two
chain two
I am going to count just to make sure
sometimes I miss count
I ended up with seven which is good
sometimes I end up with an extra one or not enough
I am going to join with the beginning stitch I want to open this up a little bit like that
so I can find my beginning stitch
work below these two loops
and this is where we joined all the stitches together like that
put your hook below those loops
wrap the yarn over pull through
pull through the loop on the hook
we have secured and joined round one
we want to work over into round two
we are working below the chain two loop
round two, we will work a chain one for our first stitch
in the space we are going to work
two of the cluster stitches
and this is going to be our increase
like that
chain two
we are working another stitch in the same space
we will have a total of fourteen
on round two
chain two
and in the next space
you will work an increase the same way
chain two
and then work the same stitch
the next set of stitches will be in slow motion
there will be no sound
continue around to the beginning
there will be a total of fourteen cluster stitches
I have completed the last stitch
on round two
this is what we have
I am going to work a slip stitch
to join
just like that
I am going to work a chain one
for my step up
round three will be an increase round
I am going to work one stitch
in the first space
in the next space there will be an increase
and that is two stitches in the same space
chain two
the next stitch will be an individual stitch
the next space will be an increase
this is working two stitches in the same stitch
chain two
this is how i like to work the stitch
an that is by pulling the loops up horizontal
an i pull them up so they are even with the crochet hook
wrap the yarn over, pull through twl
put my hook back through the same space
wrap the yarn over pull through
pulling up even with the previous stitches
wrap the yarn over pull through two
wrap the yarn over
put my hook through the space
wrap the yarn over, pull through
pulling it up
wrap the yarn over pull through two
there are four loops
put my hook through the same space
wrap the yarn over pull through
yarn over pull through two loops
you can see that all five of the loops are even
wrap the yarn over pull through
and this creates a nice loose stitch
and it will be easy to pull your hook through
if you work the loops to tight
it may be challenging to pull the hook through
you will continue around to the beginning
and you can see where we have one stitch here
two in this space
one stitch here
two in this space
there will be a total of twenty one stitches
on round three
i have completed round three
and i am going to join
with the first stitch
wrap the yarn over pull through
pull through the loop on the hook
this is what we have completed
we will not be working anymore increases
from here, through the length of the cap
we will be working
one stitch in each stitch around
there will be a total of ten rounds
this is what i have
i am working my last chain
joining with the beginning stitch
wrap the yarn over pull through
pull through the loop on the hook
i am going to pull my tail on through
i have already cut it
give it a tug
this completed the hat
this is what it will look like
if you want to roll it up
with a little brim on like that
