Hey guys, Michelle Davidson here and today Im going to talk about something that weve
all been guilty of. And Im going to tell you why we have and why they dont work.
Yes, I am talking about diets. You cant turn on the TV open a magazine or even walk
down the street without being confronted with Americas hottest obsession..weight loss.
Diets are a billion dollar industry. Companies spend millions and millions of dollars luring
you in to try the latest diet. Low carb, no carb, high fat, low fat, no fat. You Name
It. There are tons of them out there and I know you know what they are, youve seen
them and your bombarded with them every day. They all promise that you will be on the fast
tract to skinny and its just not true. The worst part is advertising, you know, also
effects our children and girls, especially girls by the ages of nine or ten have distorted
body images. So, you know weve got to stop. Weve got to stop. Our culture touts diet
pills, celebrity workouts, convenience foods, trendy diets to help us achieve our desired
weight but these quick fix solutions have backfired. Americans are larger than they
have ever been before. In HISTORY. Americans are bigger than weve ever been. About half
of Americans are overweight and one third are obese.
Diets steer us away from our common sense and dip deeply into our pockets while providing
few if any lasting results. I mean, WHY PAY? So. Why? Diets dont work because each person
is unique with different needs based on gender, age, ancestry, and lifestyle. How could one
diet be right for anyone? Theres no one size, uh, one size fits all. Diets dont
work because they are extremem solutions. Just like in physics, if a pendulum swings
to one side it had to swing equally to the other side. A diet may work for a short period
of time but research actually shows that almost all diets result in a ten puond gain once
off the diet. So, your yo-yo dieting and your constantly, when you get off the diet you
gain ten pounds. How many times you gonna do that? Diets dont work because theyre
too restrictive. People who fail on diet plans are not flawed or weak. Diets by nature require
discipline and restrictions at levels that are unsustainable by healthy human beings.
People are disconnected by why they gain weight in the first place and see, you know, diet
as the only culprit. For example, ignoring or discounting emotions is the first thing
that causes weight imbalances. In our fast paced world we have lost sight of many aspects
of like that truly nourish and balance our bodies such as slowing down, eating home cooked
meals, YES home cooked meals. To be honest I mean think about it the time it takes you
to drive to your fast food restaurant, go through the drivethru and go home you can
create a well balancd meal and it can be very simple. Thats I tell all of my Incredimoms.
Keep it simple. There are plenty of recipes that are quite tasty that are five ingredients
or less. And when you become a part of my community I share those recipes with you.
So, you know spend time with quality. Spending qualtiy time with family and friends is also
important. And I mean in person people, not on facebook, not on the internet, I mean in
person. And people that you actually like. Eating consciously and making simple lifestyle
changes will create positive results but you have to stop the yo-yo dieting. Working with
your body instead of against it will bring you increased energy, stabilized weight and
sustainable health. Thats it for today ladies. Dont forget to subscribe, like, leave comments,
ask me questions, participate. Tell your friends about The Incredimom Community and Ill
see you in the next video. Bye!
