So that little small world gallery book that I showed you as like a little lepton. But
in the field of calligraphy in this day there is an absolutely marvelous, gigantic piece
of work that was recently accomplished, recently finished by Donald Jackson and a team of wonderful
calligraphers and artists. Remember he's the one who wrote the story of writing that I
talked about much earlier. And what he did, what they did was to create the first fully
illuminated manuscript bible in about five hundred years. And it's an absolutely magnificent
work. He was featured during the time that he was creating this in the Smithsonian Magazine.
So these are his hands, he was working on this manuscript then. And I just like really
quick want to flash to you my, my very happy moment in my life when I actually met him
and his wife at a calligraphy conference and in the background is a poster. I was in charge
of doing all the posters for that particular conference. So I just mentioned something
to you, do you know what, every year there is a calligraphy conference where you can
find out everything you need to know to proceed with this beautiful art form. But in the meantime
I want to show you also that there is a John Neil bookseller catalog that you can get.
And on the cover this time is pages from the book of works by another extraordinary calligrapher
named John Stevens. I did, I was lucky enough to meet him one day but I have not had the
opportunity to study with him, but he is absolutely marvelous. He did study with Arthur Baker
who is someone that I studied with. Arthur Baker and is just a fantastic innovator in
the field of calligraphy and many, many books out by Arthur Baker. But what I wanted to
say was that John Neil Bookseller is now selling facsimiled books of this, this illuminated
manuscript and which he did for the, it's called the St. Johns Bible and he did it for
St. John's University in Minnesota. So you can just google that and find out more about
it.
