Hello my name is Andrew Campbell, welcome to AC Silver. This fine and impressive antique Victorian Irish sterling silver four piece tea service is quite a magnificent example. It has been crafted in the Louis style. Each piece has fine and impressive chased decoration. This decoration incorporates shaped cartouche to either side, one of which is vacant, the other with a bright cut engraved crest. Each piece is supported by fine and impressive cast feet embellished with mask decorated sockets. The kettle and teapot have hallmarked hinged covers, which retain the original hallmarked finials. The cream and sugar have the original gilt interiors. The service benefits with an impressive pair of sugar tongs. The cream jug has an impressive chased masked decorated spout. At a weight of 130 troy ounces the service is an excellent gauge of silver. The decoration is very crisp and sharp. Full hallmarks, as to be expected, are struck to each piece. The highlighted features of this exceptional service make it one that could be sold with my highest recommendations.
