Hello and welcome to My Weekly Geekery, the show in which I talk about what has been going on
in my geeky world over the past seven days.
Bit of a Doctor Who special this week. I don't know why I said a bit of a
Doctor Who special, it is a complete Doctor Who special, because all I'm talking about is
Doctor Who,
because Doctor Who. So in Doctor Who news,
the BBC has released several new videos and things for the fiftieth anniversary
this week, to increase the hysteria for us Whovians. Children in Need showed a preview
clip
of The Day of the Doctor, when 10 and 11 meet. BBC Breakfast went behind the scenes of
The Day of the Doctor, with Lizo Mzimba presenting.
Strax has released a field report about Queen Elizabeth.
BBC Wales's An Evening with Steven Moffat has been released on the BBC
website.
A clip has been released from An Adventure in Space and Time, which is on Thursday,
tomorrow, in the UK, and David Tennant has given an introduction to the fiftieth
anniversary special. I have put links to
all of those things in the description below. Matt Smith and David Tennant are also going to be
on the Graham Norton Show on Friday in the UK,
so watch that if you have the opportunity 'cause it will be awesome.
BBC America has been hosting a Doctor Who week on YouTube which is nice of them.
YouTubers have been making
videos about Doctor Who, which are on a playlist on the BBC America
YouTube channel which I shall link to below. BBC America is also hosting a
live pre-show
on Saturday so do go to the BBC America YouTube channel
for lots of Doctory goodness. And finally, in
massive news, the prequel to The Day of the Doctor,
The Night of the Doctor, has been released early. It was released early due to the
pressure of leaks.
Stupid leaks. I have put a link to it below. It is about my favourite thing that Steven
Moffat has done in a long time
and I want to continue talking about it so I'm going to put a big
spoilers notice here.
SPOILERS. So if you don't want to listen to this bit then this is where you
should stop
the video. It features Paul McGann.
Also John Hurt, but 8! We see the regeneration of Paul McGann into John
Hurt. We hear his final words, 'Physician, heal thyself.'
It makes Eight's audio companions canon.
It's really, really good. I'm so happy. I watched it in an office,
and may have caused several people to question my sanity.
I was a little excited. So, in conclusion,
three days to go, people, three days.
This has been My Weekly Geekery.
