Welcome to editing your active listings to
match the eBay catalog.
In three simple steps, we'll show you how easy it is to
edit your active listings to match
products in the eBay catalog.
Editing your listings to match the catalog makes sense,
because it gives you a quick, easy way to make sure your
listings are seen by as many potential buyers as possible.
In addition, when you revise your listings to match the
catalog, product specifications like brand,
model number, dimensions, color, and performance, plus
professional photos, will be automatically
included in your listing.
So let's take a look and see how easy it is to edit your
listings to match products in the eBay catalog.
Log into your eBay account, then click Selling under the
My eBay tab.
Now click Active under Selling Manager in the far left column
of your My eBay page to view all your active listings.
Once all your active listings are shown, you're ready to
begin editing them to match products in the eBay catalog.
First, you'll need to identify the appropriate categories for
your listings.
Start by clicking Advanced Search next to the Search
button, then use the drop down menus to choose Category and
Is from the selections provided.
To save time, you can either search for listing categories
individually or search up to eight categories at once by
clicking the Add Another link on the right.
If you already know the category ID number for your
listings, you can enter it at any time in the Search box.
If you don't know the category ID, no problem.
Just click Category Look Up.
From the pop up window, enter as many keywords as you can to
describe the general category of your listings, such as
computer printer, digital camera, or smartphone.
Then click the Search button and choose the category that
exactly matches your listings.
Now that you've selected the appropriate category for your
listings, you're ready to find their exact product match from
the eBay catalog.
To begin, click the Edit menu above the listings that match
your selected category.
As you'll see, you can edit as many as 500
listings at one time.
Once you've selected the set of listings you'd like to
edit, Selling Manager will begin the process of matching
them to products in the eBay catalog.
Once processed, you'll see all active listings that match the
category you selected.
To begin matching them to products in the eBay catalog,
simply select the Check All box above your
listings, then click Add.
Now for each one of your listings, you'll be offered a
possible match from the catalog.
If the product suggestion exactly matches your listing,
just click the Yes button when prompted.
Review the product details for your listing, then click the
Save and Next button at the bottom of the window to move
to the next listing.
You may find that there won't always be a product match
suggestion offered for your listing, in which case you'll
be asked to search the catalog for an exact product match.
Use the search field to add keywords for your listing,
then click Search to find its exact match from the catalog.
Repeat these steps for each listing in the category.
Once you've completed all the listings in your selected
category, you're ready to repeat the process for your
other listing categories, until all of your active
listings have been matched.
Simply return to the active listings page in My eBay to
begin a new category search.
Editing your active listings to match the eBay catalog
maximizes your sales exposure, and gives you instant access
to product details and photos straight from the
manufacturer.
So don't forget to list your items with the eBay catalog
every time you sell.
Thank you.
