Hi, I'm
Dorothea Hendriks your communication skills specialist and presentation
skills
and the art of speaking. Tip number four.
Wait for audience readiness. As a rule when a speaker is introduced
the audience applauds.Far too often
I've seen as speaker go up and then begin
giving a presentation and the audience hasn't even finished their applause yet.
If you're doing that, stop. You are doing a disservice to yourself.
You're doing a disservice to your audience. Your ability to connect
and introduce your topic is severely compromised if the audience can't hear
what you're saying.
So why would you possibly begin your presentation
before you have the audience quiet
and ready to hear what you want to say. If you're like most people
you spend a good chunk a time and enormous effort
into your presentation. So really why not wait
for the audience to be ready and receive what you have to say.
Thanks again for listening to tip number four if you're interested in
