So you are coming to Brazil for the World Cup?
Maybe you're planning on following the US national team. That's exciting!
One thing to know before you go is that Brazil is a very large country,
and you may have to travel over 3500 miles to see matches in different cities.
Don't let the map mislead you. Brazil is actually larger than the continental
United States.
If you attend the USA vs Ghana match in Natal,
and then travel all the way to Manaus to the USA versus Portugal match,
you will cover over 1700 miles.
It's like traveling from Seattle all the way to Chicago.
And if you travel to Recife to watch the third match,
USA vs Germany, you'll be making a trip equivalent
the distance between Boston and Denver. Are you up for it?
Plan your trip in advance. When booking your flight
make sure you have enough time to get from one city to another, with possibles
stops along the way. A trip from Natal to Manaus, for example, can take up to 10 hours
on travel time.
since is often hard to find a direct flight. That said
we recommend that you don't arrive at your destination on game day. Arriving at
least one day in advance to the game
will give you chance to acclimate to the city and minimize your stress.
Plan ahead and make the most of your time in Brazil!
