Tesla Motors is charging ahead! The alternative automaker is about to unveil
its eagerly awaited Model 3, in a live broadcast on March 31st.
Priced at $35,000, the Model 3 will be the first widely affordable vehicle from Tesla.
It will be in the same class as the BMW 3 series and have a driving range of 200 miles.
The Model 3 is scheduled for a late 2017 release.
Tesla, founded in 2003, introduced their first vehicle, the Roadster Sport in 2008. At a
price tag of
$100,000. Tesla sold 2,600 Roadsters in 4 years. In 2012, the auto-maker
introduced full-sized Model S. Winning multiple awards for design and safety, the $70,000
Model S has sold
over 100,000 units and is currently
the best-selling luxury sedan in America. In 2015, Tesla rolled out their third car,
the Model X,
a crossover SUV, priced at $80,000 . Tesla sold 208 units in it's first year and is gearing up
for a significant roll-out in 2016.
Many Experts believe the model 3 is Tesla's most important car yet.
The company will begin taking reservations in stores and on-line,
March 31st.
