Now out of all the variations that we've mentioned earlier, a particular one is the degree of
rotation. Now people call this the 540 kick, but you can also do the 720 or 1080, as many
rotations as physically possible. Well, let's go a little bit more in depth on how to gain
more degrees of rotation. Now we've already taught you how to do the kick from the run,
from the jump, from the kick and to the landing. But some people might want to up the ante
and do increased amounts of degrees of rotation. So everything would still be the same up to
the point where the kick goes. The only different is now if you want to increase your degree
of rotation is to bring the leg fast up and down again, but when it comes down there's
extra emphasis on the strength of it coming down. You want to bring it down as you're
still up in the air, and then keep your left leg straight so that your body is in one line.
The difference here is if the leg is still up, then it prohibits you from rotating and
speeding up during your rotation. So as it comes up and down you keep your body tight
and you can choose to torque a little bit to your left using your right side, using
your arm and your waist and spin. And you want to look towards your left shoulder, the
direction that you're spinning. So I'll do one slow motion. Let's say you're doing the
kick, and you kick, you bring this down, and bring your arms in and spin. As you're in
the air you want to use your arms and waist to give yourself some torque. And this happens
right as you bring down the leg. When the leg is upon completion of being straight,
when your body is in a straight line then you can proceed to spin. So let's see one
one more time. Going from here to there.
So I tighten up and I give my body the ability to torque and spin more and the key thing
again is keep this leg straight so that you're able to spin. If it's flailing around as dead
weight it's going to hold you back and prevent you from spinning in the direction you want,
and your body should stay in one line as you're spinning, not having your chest over here
while your body's still trying to spin over in the opposite direction. And that's a little
more in depth look at the exact science on degree rotation.
