Tvokids 'when I Grow Up' Launch Event
On August 1, 2018, Science North was proud to partner with TVOKids for the launch of their new program, When I Grow Up, starring Mikaela Blake! Mikaela took a tour of everything the science centre has to offer and took the time to speak to an enthusiastic audience of both children and parents alike to discuss all of the exciting career opportunities that exist within the fields of STEM!

MIKAELA: Hey, kids!
Mikaela here and behind me is Science North in Sudbury, Ontario!
It's an awesome place where you can check out everything that's cool about science.
From rocks, to bugs, to the cutest creatures ever!
Today, I'm here for something extra cool - a launch event for my new TVOKids show,
'When I Grow Up!'
"My name's Mikaela. I'm 12!"
It's bringing together all kinds of people excited about the show
and the cool jobs that I get to try!
"Roll it!!"
"This is Natalie!"
"The jobs in STEM are really necessary right now."
And there are professionals here telling kids about lots of careers that use science!
And there are kids from all over Ontario wondering what they'll be when they grow up!
"I want to be a vet because I, like, love dogs, I have one."
"When I grow up, I think that being, like, doing something with science!"
"Um, I think when I get older, I wanna, like, discover fossils and stuff!"
