My Name is Claude Moraes, I'm a MEP in the EU and represent London, UK. But most importantly I'm here backing WePromise.eu because I believe passionately in protecting civil rights in cyberspace. I've always wanted to protect human rights, thats a big Part of my working Life but I believe generationaly we reached a very important and vital Moment, where rights in cyberspace must be protected. I'm doing a big report here in the European Union on mass surveillance and all the issues that have to do with NSA surveillance and intelligence services. And what i have learned very acutely over the past months, is that we need to be aware of our rights in terms of data protection. We need to be aware of our rights in the internet.
