Today on our 2012 Dodge Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima StickUp 2 Hitch
Mounted Bike Rack, part number Y02420. Now, we've already gone ahead and installed our
bike rack into the vehicle, tightening down our anti-rattle bolt. This is what it would
look like in the stored position on your truck. We'll now go ahead and give you a few measurements.
Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 19 inches and from the closest point of the bike
rack to the back of the vehicle in the stored position is 4 inches. When we fold the platform
down, we'll add an additional 33 inches of overall length to the vehicle.
Now, we'll attempt to open our tailgate. The tailgate will actually hit the bike rack before
it opens completely. Now, we're almost ready to load our bike. We will need to bring the
vertical bar up and lock it into position. We can then open up the rear wheel strap to
make sure it's out
of the way.
