There's nothing better than a race in Dubai 24 hours I want to win always You were braking to much and you were driving like a gentleman in the city Damn it The person that wins GTAcademy2012 Will see his life changed forever I just think in getting to the final and win it If I have to die, I'll die on track March 2012, GTAcademy started the search The main goal? The fastest 36 GT5 drivers from all over Europe A selection that took place with more than 800.000 contestants And where were driven more than 190 million virtual kilometres After 4 months of different events, the 36 fastest drivers from Europe Are elected to participate in the Final of GTAcademy 2012 Divided in 6 territorial groups, the 36 contestants will be in the F1 circuit of Silverstone Where in the most intensive 7 days of their lives, will fight for the big final prize Drive at the 24H of Dubai as an official Nissan driver An unique opportunity... that may change their lives! The 36 contestans will be helped by professional drivers that will also be their judges The Iberian group, formed by 3 spanish and 3 portuguese Will be helped by the professional drivers Dani Clos and Lucas Ordonez and will have 7 days to select the best driver of the group Spain-Portugal 18th August, drivers are going to the F1 circuit of Silverstone where they will compete in the most intensive 7 days of their lives Good morning guys, welcome to GTAcademy, this will be one of the toughest weeks of your life's. I hope you enjoy it But from here there will be only one winner Hello guys, I'm Lucas Ordonez and you know me as a racing driver but this week I'll be you judge and your mentor During this week Dani and Lucas will search for the driver that will adapt best to the extreme conditions of the 24H Dubai It will be a very intense week, we want you to consult us everytime with your doubts and with what you want to learn Dani and me will give everything to make sure that one of you will be the winner and we will support you GTAcademy wants to get ready a racing driver for Endurance Races, the first in Dubai we need to get someone that can handle it mentally and that can be quite regular and consistent We will decide on the most talented one and the one that can show more improvement I would like to be part of it, and that one of my drivers becomes Champion of GTAcademy and have the chance to drive in Dubai for me this would be vey important... feel that I'm special in someone's life Together with Dani Lucas Ordonez winner of the 1st edition of GT Academy knows better than no one what's needed to become the Silverstone winner 4 years ago I arrived here with 10 kg more than I have now Almost no English but with a lot of will and seriousness And I wanted it badly to win the Dubai prize but wihout knowing what would happen Like Lucas our drivers arrive to GTAcademy thinking just about winning From Valencia, Luis, student I have dream, turn myself into a professional racing driver and I came to catch that opportunity From Lisbon, Diogo, DJ I think I'm quick and physically in shape, and that may be the key to win it Jesus, Alicantino, student I'm ready to sacrifice it all Remember this name Raul, Famalicão, unenployed I have a goal Change my life and turn this my home From Puerta de Segura, Daniel, electricist Maybe I have it to become a race driver, the judges will decide From Braga, Hugo, Commercial Director I'm not the common gamer, I'm 31 years old I have wife and son, I came from a small country so if I can, anyone in the world can win it To select the winner of the Iberian group Dani and Lucas have set different challenges that will put the drivers at their limit in the next days In the last day of the week, the group winners will have a race to decide the winner of GTAcademy 2012 Without time to loose, the first challenge takes part just after arriving Silverstone Well guys this is the first Challenge We will do 1 lap time attack We will have a few minutes practice with the 370z and then just 1 lap to get your time This is where you need to show your driving capabilities We will determine your level and see the improvement at the end of the week For the first time in their life's Our drivers will get into the car that they drove so much in the simulator The adaptation process must be almost instantaneous And the drivers have a lot to learn If they want to be the fastest Today the most important will be learning how driving is affected with the weight distribuction in the car For that they have to take in consideration where is the gravity centre, where every forces occur Changing the car's direction the gravity forces affect the car's handling The car is now much difficult to drive When the driver brakes, the weight goes to front end of the car When he turns, the gravity will affect the car laterally The faster the car goes, the higher the forces of gravity Difficulting the car control The best drivers will be those than can master the equilibrium of the different forces If the car loses the stability, it can end in a crash In the pits the 3 first drivers all called to enter the track I have in my list the 3 portuguese Diogo, Hugo e Raul.
